Gig Videos
These videos are for everyone to enjoy but more for our military boys and girls wherever they may be. It is with you in mind that these videos were filmed. Videos were filmed with a small Canon SD900 camera with no additional lighting and are definitely not professional quality, but hopefully they will give you a taste of what you are missing while you cannot get to the gigs. Remember these are live so there will be some little boo-boos here and there, some tiny and some, more often than not, a 'little' noticeable. Sometimes that is what makes the gigs so much fun - other than Paddy falling off his stool!!!!!!
Videos are stored at various remote locations and are powered by the respective providers. Click on a video title on the list to the right and it will take you to a page, on our website, with a video player and a short description of that particular video.
We will be having videos of Paddy & Bill performing originals and covers soon. There will be no direct shots of the fans at the gigs until all legal issues have been resolved.
If you encounter any problems please email us.
A very bawdy pub song.
An Irish Rebel Song. The Black and Tans as a subject still arouses controversy in Ireland. They were former soldiers brought into Ireland by the government in London after 1918 to assist the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RIC). Come Out Ye Black and Tans was recorded by Paddy and Bill on the Live At The Radisson CD. The Taliban part is Paddy's adaptation and was recorded by Paddy and Bill on the One Drunken Night CD.
A really bawdy pub song.
Whiskey in the Jar is a famous Irish traditional song about an Irish highwayman (usually in the Kerry mountains), who is betrayed by his wife or lover. It is one of the most widely performed traditional Irish songs.
For five years now I have been covering Paddy & Bill's gigs. They do Alice at almost every gig which means that I have heard their version(s) nearly a thousand times, but never as Paddy did it at this gig. Can you believe this……….COUNTRY STYLE!!!!! The amazing thing is that Paddy said that he had never heard it that way either!! I did not capture the opening because I thought it was just Alice AGAIN. You still get to see the best part!! I think we all laughed until we cried. This guy never ceases to amaze me with what he can come up with next.
Tuesday at Huske is very unpredictable ranging from a small turnout to jam-packed. One thing is constant - it is always very laid-back. That gives Paddy lots of time to do what he does best; watch it, you know what I mean. You never, ever know exactly what that is going to be either. This is a classic example of what goes on between sets. Do you still call it sets when they do not even know what a setlist is???? Whatever!!
Calm down girls, and boys. The title does not mean that Paddy got married, at least not to my knowledge. Take note of the first line of the song. Was he trying to tell the newlyweds something? Paddy just loves another line way down in the song too. Think just maybe you will spot it!!!!
Paddy says they are going to do some Flogging Molly but it did not happen right away. This could, just maybe eventually, turn into Flogging Molly!!!
Did he say that? He is going to make people pee in a trash can? What will he think of next? My word!!!!
Big Strong Man Sylvest is another popular pub song done at lots of the gigs. Believe me, the crowd goes crazy every time Paddy & Bill do this song.
I do not have a clue how I came up with the title to this clip!!! I don't even know what that stuff is but I am pretty sure that is the word they used!!!
One of these days I am going to figure out exactly what he is saying here. It's not like I have not heard them do this number hundreds of times. Anyways the fans really like this one.
Thursday nights can get a little on the bawdy side. (Who am I kidding?) Looks that way on this video. The title refers to the cigarette - have you heard that remark before? How many times?
Another very popular pub song which is done very often at the gigs is "Seven Drunken Nights". Seems this song gets longer and longer. Probably because there is so much interaction throughout.
Paddy Gibney is not just another musician - he is the ULTIMATE entertainer. Bill is an awesome violinist - he is also the concertmaster for our local symphony. Every now and again these two worlds meet on stage. This clip is one of those times. Bill is awesome with the violin and Paddy never ceases to entertain the audience the entire time. We have both their worlds on stage at once on Tuesday night, January 4, 2007 at Skip's in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
I think everyone loves it when Paddy starts doing different takes on popular songs. Sometimes even Bill looks on in amazement. I caught him in this clip!! What these two can do is beginning to be unreal!!!!
What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor is one of the most popular pub songs that Paddy & Bill perform. People start asking for the Drunken Sailor shortly after Paddy & Bill take the stage.
Want to know where the names for these videos come from? Well, for the most part, Paddy & Bill unknowingly name them!! I needed some way to distinguish between video files so I just add a phrase or something that I hear while editing the video. This particular title could be from quite a few phrases on this video - well, it could probably be used for nearly all these Interlude thingys!!! I was going to use a phrase that Paddy used in his first comment on this video but decided that was not a good idea. Bet you agree!!!!!!
I know he said that but exactly what did he mean? Think maybe I am too naive, or better yet too young, to understand this one.
Paddy & Bill performed at the grand opening of O'Larry's; however, this was their first regular gig there. It was a great turnout for a first gig with a terrific response to the show. This is the opening number for that night. What better opening for an Irish pub than a jig and no one does it better than Bill!!
Paddy & Bill always recognize those at the gigs who are having birthdays. On this Friday night at Wheeler's it was for Travis. We see him at almost all of the gigs. Happy Birthday, Travis
The crowd has been waiting, and drinking, for quite some time. Paddy & Bill greet everyone as they come in and make their way to the stage. The noise is deafening as Paddy & Bill tune their instruments and do the testes thingy!!
Sometimes I think getting started is the hardest part of the gig!! This is the scene at Wheeler's on Friday, November 17, 2006 - much the same as it is at every gig.
