Fort Bragg's Officers' Club celebrated St.Patrick’s Day early when they hosted a free concert featuring Fayetteville local favorite Paddy Gibney March 10.

"Get Irish with Paddy Gibney" attracted more than 200 attendees to the Officers' Club.

The event featured a three-hour performance and Irish sing-a-long by Gibney, who is a singer/songwriter originally from Dublin, Ireland. He performs original songs, covers, and Irish traditionals.

Several contests were held throughout the night like the Black & Tan competition where participants competed to see who could make the best drink. Irish food and decorations got attendees in a festive mood.

Jennifer Hare and four of her family members, all dressed in green, attended the event. "We heard about tonight on the Paddy Gibney Web site," said Hare. "We've seen him other places. We saw a guy in a kilt and a guy with bag pipes; it was great!"

"What made this such a great event was that Gibney really knows how to work the crowd," said Lori Bruschi, marketing chief. "His fans really get into the music and the Irish theme."
