Patrick Gibney first approached me this autumn about a song he had written about HRH, Princess Diana. As Diana was once our patron and a strong public figure I was intrigued to listen to Patrick's song. Patrick felt strongly about the life of Diana and wanted the BDA to benefit from his song. He knew Diana had a great interest in Sign Language and the Deaf community.

Patrick went on to tell me that I could listen to the song, and read about him on his website. So I did - I thought Patrick's song was wonderful and a real tribute to Diana. The following week I was delighted to receive a cheque, on behalf of the BDA, for $400 from Patrick and proceeds from the sale of his CD "Diana". Patrick has kindly donated some "Diana" CDs and signed promotional literature. The handsome, young Patrick was born in Ireland and later moved to the USA on a sports scholarship. From his love of sports, Patrick quickly turned his talents to music, learning to play the guitar and write his own songs.
