Fanzine
2002-2003

The Fanzine was a section of the original Shamrock and Roll website.

I live in Fayetteville, NC and I go to Paddy and Bill's show every Thursday at Coaches. They are awesome there, everyone has so much fun and you feel like you have known them for ever when you are around them. They always make me laugh and they allow everyone to join in and sing along with them. The crowd is always big and you never know what to expect Paddy and Bill to do this week and the people love it. Paddy even tried to dance one time, He can really shake it, HA HA.

Anyway I just wanted to let you know how wonderful they are and how this place would be so boring with out them. I love it and I'm sure everywhere they play is just as fun and exciting and I wish I could be there as well but seeing them every Thursday is a good dose of what I need. Take care and maybe I will see you in Dec. Holla at you later,

I went to see Paddy on that Thursday before his birthday. They played for an hour and then the rest of the night another band played, so it gave them time to interact with the fans and relax. It was great to see them on the floor and getting to actually talk with them and learn more about them than just their music. It was a great time and I'm sure his party at Wheelers was a blast but I could not make it, my son's birthday was that day too! No matter where Paddy and Bill play that are sure to make a hit. They are awesome.

The first time I met Paddy was a couple of years ago, unbelievably I had been talked into escorting my daughter, her hubby, and my wife to the USA from England to see this guy my daughter had been raving about for a long time. We drove up from Orlando in Florida to North Carolina to meet Paddy in the restaraunt opposite the Radisson hotel. I did not know what to expect, but as soon as I saw this guy walk in, I knew it must be Paddy, he was everything Debbi had said, he had this unmistakable charisma that you all must know about by now, and I found him to be a very open, honest guy, with a winning smile and a typical Irish charm. Another reason I had for liking this guy was because he paid for the meal.

We spent a few hours in his company, then arranged to meet at the Radisson that night for his regular gig. WOW, this guy was like the pied piper, I could not believe the way the crowd loved him, he knew almost everyone by name, and encouraged their participation, he was infectious, warm, and he and Bill had a great understanding.

After an excellent night's entertainment, we were invited to meet Paddy the day after at his home. We spent another few hours in his company before leaving to continue our holiday. I admit to being one of Paddys "older" fans, maybe more for his obvious charm and genuine respect of others than anything else, but whatever it is that Paddy has, it should be bottled like beer, and sampled by everyone. On a personal note to Paddy, if he ever reads this, take care young Patrick me boy, hope you get everything I always told you you would, love and a kiss

To you people who know Paddy, and know of his talent, this group needs more of your stories, whatever they may be, good or bad, Paddy wont mind, bye all.

Hi there! My husband has been called up for duty from Braintree, MA (just south of Boston) and he's stationed at Ft. Bragg while awaiting orders to go overseas. Him and his buddies heard this 'great band' one night at Coaches and within 3 days I had some t-shirts in the mail! I just received the 'Shamrock N Roll' cd, signed by Paddy himself, and I have to say, I'm already a fan. What a fantastic album.

My parents were both from Ireland, I took dance lessons, and I've always had a love for Irish music. This cd has a great mix of traditional and modern music; love the word changes in some songs, too! And, of course, you can't go wrong with a little GNR, oohaah! He seems like he is thoroughly enjoying his time on stage and as if he has quite a few fans in the crowd!

I hope he can dedicate a song to my husband, Joe Bognanno, next time he's at Coaches. If he knows, 'Boston Rose' that would be great, otherwise, any song that he thinks I would like!

Thank you, Paddy, for keeping our troops busy while they are away from their families at such a tough time!

Thank you,

PS: How bad can you be, I was born October 26, 1968!
