What's Happening At The Pub
Posted by PaddyG
This past week was a more or less normal week with the exception of the Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild on Wednesday night.
This past Wednesday was the third meeting of the Guild and attendance was definitely up quite a bit. Jeremy was out-of-town so Paddy was the host for the evening. Well, we all know that means we did NOT start at 8pm. Lucky break for all of us!! The musicians gathered around tables in the center of the pub and started playing - like a seisun. It reminded me of chamber music way back when. That is exactly what Paddy envisions for the pub. Wouldn't it be great to have that every 'Sunday At The Pub' after reopening on Sundays in the fall?? Don't miss out on the wonderful experiences with the Guild every Wednesday night at 8pm.
This is what we have in store for you this week:

The Fisher House™ program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the
hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Fisher House is a non-profit organization and operates solely
on donations.
Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House™ Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the
grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or
injury.
There is at least one Fisher House™ at every major military medical center to assist families in need and to ensure that they are provided with the comforts of home in a supportive environment. Annually, the
Fisher House™ program serves more than 8,500 families, and have made available more than two million days of lodging to family members since the program originated in 1990. Based on a comparison of fees
at a Fisher House™ (the average charge is less than $10 per family per day, with many locations offering rooms at no cost) with commercial lodging facilities in the same area, it is estimated that families have
saved more than $60 million by staying at a Fisher House™ since the program began.
In addition to constructing new houses, Fisher House™ Foundation continues to support existing Fisher Houses™ and help individual military families in need. Families and friends of patients at any of the
military's hospitals can now receive up-to-the-minute reports on a loved one by going to the patient's own customized web page, thanks to new services provided through Caring Bridge.

The services provided by Fisher House are needed now more than ever because of the many conflicts of the past few years. That also means Fisher House needs the help of each of us in order to provide
those services. Please support those who put their lives on the line every day to preserve the freedom that we enjoy.
Hello boys and girls......sorry about the psycho babble in my email last week. I certainly got some funny responses. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't give a shite...and you've had a
few.......Anyway, the email was a little personal which is a rare thing for me. I get a kick out of some folks thinking I'm gay so it sickens me to think I may have possibly ruined that wonderful rumor. I'll soldier
on regardless..... and continue to wear my Daisy Dukes.
We had a great show in Raleigh on Saturday. Thanks to all who attended, especially the girl who insisted on showing off her new pierced genitalia. My little friend between my legs ran away and is still missing.
If you see him tell him to call home. I would never do such a thing to him.
We have a busy week ahead as usual. We played at Paddy's last night. Nice little turn out. Wednesday(today) we have our third week of the songwriters guild (8pm). Jeremy is out of town so Bill and I will be
taking the reins and trying to relearn some of our original music. Anyway, more and more musicians are starting to catch wind of this idea and I believe it will be big. It's an opportunity to be heard, to collaborate and to be critiqued. You don't have to know anything about songwriting to learn so don't be intimidated. The only people not welcome will be those who forgot to leave their egos at home.....and I'll handle those folks.
We'll be playing our regular gigs on Thursday and Friday @ Paddy's........... This Saturday night we'll be in Wilmington at Hell's Kitchen. Ethan Hanson will be playing at Paddy's Saturday starting at
10pm.........
One more thing......more important than anything above. Please check out www.LauraHarper.com for details of a charity we are supporting this week. I believe
our sites have links to this also.....www.paddygibney.com and www.paddygibneypub.com.
Anyway, we are supporting the Fisher House Foundation. The Fisher House at Ft. Bragg is a home away from home for the families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical facilities.
A 1965 Mustang Convertible will be auctioned off this Saturday, downtown Fayetteville in Festival Park. The event lasts from 4pm to 7pm. Lots of others prices are up for grabs too. This is being organized
by Re/max Choice real estate, AKA Rusty Russell Real Estate. Tickets for the car are still available.......check our sites. Also, go
to www.fisherhousefortbragg.org ......The event on Saturday includes live music and hot air balloon rides, etc., etc................give back when you
can, it's hard to get where you want to be when you don't.........
Sorry for the long email. God Bless and thanks. We'll see you along the road.

What's Happening At The Pub

We've made quite a few changes in the pub routine. Martini Night changed to Cocktail Time on Tuesday and is now Wing Night on Tuesday. Seems that most of you really like wings so we aim to please!
The Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild has met for the past two weeks on Wednesday night. This is turning into a great night at the pub. I think it will continue growing for quite a bit. That is good for you because it means live music every Wednesday night beginning with Jeremy Strothers of DL Token fame at 8pm. Last week he was joined by Kenny Huffman, an outstanding musician, and Leigha with two young guitarists. Come out on Wednesday; I think you will be very glad you did.
Thursday through Saturday remains much the same. This is what we have in store for you this week:

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Well, I got Paddy all married up - Take a look
It has been a long time coming and quite a bit of work but I think it will make a huge mark on his assets. What do you think? All the Paddy assets all married up on the grand entry page should really work for
all of you. We will see.
This has been a great week. I seem to finally have the pub grub down to exactly what the fans want. Not a bite left all three nights this week. So, that means that Tuesday is definitely ‘wing night’,
Wednesday ‘meatballs/sausages’, and Thursday ’sandwiches’. I came up with two great new schmears for the sandwiches - artichoke for one and sun-dried tomato for the other. Must have been good
because they were all gone when I got back to the pub.
Last night was GREAT!!! A huge limo was taking up lots of the parking lot (just waiting; not using parking spaces) when I arrived. Turns out a large group of young women were doing a BIG night on the town.
They were really having a good time at Paddy’s - I think the photos will prove that point. Fred was here from New York so that means no dull moments!! I don’t know what Kim was drinking last night but she
was really having a blast!! Think we would all like to have some of whatever she was drinking - or did she eat some of that artichoke stuff!!!!!! She whacked me on the butt once and it stung for like half an hour.
Guess it’s because I am so old.
I have almost 2,000 photos from Thursday and Friday nights so guess I better get with the program. Can’t wait to see some of them; wonder if anyone else will ever see them!!
See you next time.

Hello mes amies............It's late on a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning........aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh, what makes two people love each other? It's an interesting question in my life right now........I have
a couple of testicles so what does a male say and how does he say it and still stay remotely recognizable by the enemy, I mean the enema, I mean the enchiladas out there? I really believe that there is some
great plan which explains the unexplanable. I have a pain in my arse with the other half right now but somehow I believe her pain is more intense than mine..........
The shower has just cut off............I better finish off while I'm feeling brave........
I am often called a songwriter even though I have written very little in recent years. Wednesday night's at my pub is now 'songwriters night'. Listening to Jeremy Strothers last Wednesday as he sang and
explained his tunes was mesmerizing. Davis Stone was even more mesmerizing as he sang his song about the multiple personality girl next door named Daisy with the nice body who everybody called
crazy/// I believe it goes "I'm not fucking crazy but I would". He's Fayetteville's answer to Oscar Wilde and you wankers stay at home!!!!!!!...........don't ask me for a ticket and a backstage pass when he's
the MAN/.......Get out there and give a shit...........the least you can say is you tried to find some shit and you found some shit. .........I'm sure I am cumming across like a Jamaican tobacco sailsman but,
it's time for bed. God Bless the wankers who refuse to believe in anything. If betting on God was free they would surely bet against Him. We've all ran into those dildos along the way.....they can't even separate
faith from logic..........although is it possible to be logical without faith? Ask Ron Jeremy.
All the best,
Paddy

Bill & I will be on stage at the pub on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. We will be at Tir Na Nog in Raleigh on Saturday so Ethan Hanson will be performing at the pub. All the info about entry fees and
cover charges is on the front page of the site - http://paddygibneypub.com/
Today is Cocktail Time at the pub. Hope most of you can make it out. This is the lineup for tonight:
Complimentary Food - 6pm until it's gone
Italian Cheese Ball
Pepperoni/Mozzarella Bites
Artichoke Spread
Tomato Bruschetta
Black Olive Tapenade
Bagel Crisps
Toppers (Crackers)
Veggies
Green Onion Dip
Tomorrow, Wednesday July 11th, is the first night of the resurrection of the Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild - http://capefearsongwritersguild.com/.
Paddy's is the sponsor and Jeremy Strothers of DL Token fame will be hosting. Jeremy will take the stage at 8pm for a couple of numbers; thereafter our local musicians/Guild members will entertain you with
their original music. The pub is much too small to accommodate a full band so it will be acoustic only. We will have complimentary food from 7pm (until it's gone) - what we will be having depends on what's
at the market!! Please come down and support the Guild.
Thursday is Appreciation Day/Night with complimentary food at 7pm - again it depends on the market as to what we have. It will be posted on the
calendar - http://paddygibneypub.com/calendar.html - as soon as we know what it will be!!
That's about it. See you at the pub.

Great Night At The Pub
Posted by LauraH
Oops!! I got sidetracked!!
Last night was very slow but very, very good at the Pub. Jennifer Licko has an awesome voice and really puts on a very good show. Jennifer did two of my favorites - Fields of Athenry and Caledonia. Both were
awesome!! It was slow in the beginning because the fireworks extravaganza was going on out at Bragg. The crowd built up a bit after that.
All the food is now ready for tonight which is Appreciation Day/Night. I will be taking it down in a few minutes and then come back home to edit photos and work on the pub database a bit before going back for
Paddy & Bill’s show at 11pm. Don’t know what to expect tonight since people are about partied out for this week. It would be sort of neat to have a laid-back night with Paddy & Bill since we had such a
humongous crowd on Tuesday night.
Time for me to do the last minute things and get down to the pub.
See you next time.
Hello boys and girls.....
July 4th is a great American holiday. I hope you are all enjoying it. It's as hot as 400 hells here in North Carolina....... As I write this Jennifer Licko is belting out some tunes down at the Pub. Myself and Bill will
be playing the rest of the weekend including Saturday night. Also, we decided to resurrect the Cape Fear Song Writers Guild. Jeremy Strothers from DL Token will be hosting. It will be held every Wednesday
night from July 11th forward. It is a great chance for songwriters grow and learn more about the craft. Personally I need a lot of help with my writing so I'm looking forward to this. Check out the pub site for more
details.......www.paddygibneypub.com
I'm off for a few brews to celebrate our many freedoms. Spare a thought and a prayer for the boys and girls who defend and protect those freedoms, even your right to disagree or even be abusive and unpatriotic.
I'm a proud Irishman and I love Ireland. I'm also a proud American citizen and I love this country. Thank you to our military and your families for what you endure for the rest of us. God Bless You.
All the best,
Paddy
